Free to a Good Home: A Captain of Industry’s Rejected Mansion

The Jackling House, owned by Steve Jobs, is a 17,000-square-foot Spanish Colonial built by George Washington Smith in 1926. Earlier this month the Town Council of Woodside upheld an earlier decision to allow Steve Jobs to demolish the historical property, but they’re asking him to offer the house (for free) for one year to find someone to dismantle the house and cart it away.
